Akadimia announces the holding of 2 botanical medicine courses that will be held this summer by Rachel Thomas at our school in Glyfada.
Latin American Botanical Medicine, Monday 31st of July, 18:00-21:00
This class is for holistic professionals to learn about Latin American botanical medicine and how to begin applying it in their personal and professional practice.
- Harmonizing the body with nature and balancing elements of earth, fire, water and air
- Detoxing the organs with combinations of herbs, bodywork, diet and extreme elements
- Connecting with nature, ancestral medicine and internal power through spiritual healing
- Resources for learning more and finding Latin American elders and teachers
Botanical Medicine for Women, Tuesday 1st of August, 18:00-21:00.
This introductory class covers the primary botanical principles of balancing the female body, starting with a review of herbal gynecology in Ancient Greece and other cultures worldwide.
- Womens bodies and the elements of nature
- Plants to balance womens monthly cycles and life cycles
- Foods and drinks to improve the female flow
- Energetic and spiritual cleansing with plants

Rachel Thomas spent 25 years in Costa Rica, studying the traditional botanical medicine of South America, Central America and the Caribbean. She is a trained herbalist, a holistic health consultant and a teacher of traditional medical systems. Rachel has an honors degree in Education from Brown University, as well as decades of experience in traditional ceremonies such as moon dance, sweat lodge and shamanic voyaging. She is passionate about investigating and sharing folk medicine and ancient wellness tools.
