ANCIENT GREEK & TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE ACADEMY

International associations are very important to the ACADEMY. However, before presenting the arguments for our attitude, we must make a brief note. Modern Greeks have the tendency to adopt anything foreign or different. Especially in the field of medicine, this phenomenon is very prominent. Whatever originates from the US or the so-called developed countries is considered automatically an axiom of the medical profession. This is faulty and must be discontinued. Nowadays there is a strong tendency to depreciate the Western medical model and instead resort to the East. Greeks should not simply change patrons – they should not start extolling Chinese, Hindus or Tibetans in place of the Americans. We live in an historical moment of transformation and birth of new ideals. Thus, merely changing “boss” does not suffice. We have to stand on our own two feet, without the crutches of foreign bosses. As peoples, we have power, intelligence and an extremely rich cultural heritage.

Within this framework, we are active in the field of international associations. We invite respected teachers from every part of the planet, impartially and unbiasly.
We welcome respectfully their seed of knowledge, repaying them with Greek hospitality. Then we refine this seed, enriching the potential and the energy of the ACADEMY.

Thus we have signed a memorandum with TIANJIN UNIVERSITY OF TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE. Every year we invite Chinese professors from the University of TIANJIN.
This year, we invite for the fourth time Pr.Chong Qiangwei.

Thus, it is obvious that while we focus on the Ancient Greek thought and our own spirit, we are open to foreign influences. In our time, prejudice can lead to lapses like arid nationalism. However, bringing out the knowledge of the past and using it as a tool for the present, blending it with international wisdom is a deed that may serve as a compass in a highly disorientated era.

CO-OPERATION WITH TIANJIN UNIVERSITY OF TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE

CIRCLE OF STUDIES WITH PROFESSOR CHONG QIANGWEI

Within the co-operation of ACADEMY with TIANJIN UNIVERSITY of TCM, we invite for the fourth time professor CHONG QIANGWEI in Athens.

With his academic schedule for 2011, CHONG QIANGWEI has the ambition to cover the educational needs of the students of acupuncture, as well as the graduates who work with acupuncture. The selection of the subjects was made by the professor himself who used as criterion the need expressed by the students of the ACADEMY for attending a practice course that will offer effective therapeutic tools to new and to advanced acupunctures.

LECTURES SUBJECT

Therapeutic settlement chronic alimentary disorder (gastric pain, diarrhea, costiveness etc) with acupuncture and through using simple recipes of herbs.
Prevention of diseases and preserve of health with Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Couples of acupuncture spots and their action.
Diagnosis of tongue and pulse.
Therapeutic settlement of brain incidents in different stages of illness.
Moxatherapy and implementation of heat to needles for the settlement of skin and other maladies.
